Ext3 vista driver

The ext3 driver actively deletes files by wiping file inodes for crash safety reasons. There are still several techniques [27] and some free [28] and proprietary [29] software for recovery of deleted or lost files using file system journal analysis; however, they do .  · I would like to keep everything in a large Ext3 home partition. The problem is that Windows does not support any Linux file systems. I tested two programs that fix this by adding an Ext3 driver to Windows XP. Ext2Fsd. Ext2Fsd is an open source driver for Ext file systems that works in many versions of Windows. I made VirtualBox guest see the host's USB with ext3. Then I mounted /dev/sdb2 under /media and copied all the files I needed to the folder shared between Windows host and Ubuntu guest. A bit laborious but surely beats fighting the buggy ext3 drivers on Windows (I tried 3 of them with no success) and risking the loss of data.

I am running Vista (NFTS), Edgy (EXT3) and a shared EXT3 partition. I used "Ext2IFS_1_10c" to enable support on Vista to the shared partition, which after installation, and a reboot, works flawlessly, and give read/write. Vista also has NFS Client in "Features" so you can easily enable NFS shares into Vista as well. Much easier than in XP. From my experience, none of Windows ext2/3 drivers work properly under Windows Vista and 7RC for large partitions ( about Gb). Somewhere in the net there's even an explanation (something like an API change is to blame). I'll post it here if I find it again.
